  1. Aqua Water, the base most formulas are built on. It dissolves the other ingredients
  2. Glycerine Humectants. The reference humectant. Cheap, proven, works at 3 to 10 percent.
  3. Glycolic Acid Actives. Smallest AHA, deepest penetration.
  4. Lactic Acid Actives. AHA with humectant effect.
  5. Stearic Acid Surfactants. Cleansing, emulsifying, emulsion stabilising, masking, refatting, surfactant
  6. Cetyl AlcoholPore-clogging 2/5 Emollients. Fatty alcohol thickener.
  7. Glyceryl MonostearateFeeds Malassezia Emulsifiers. Workhorse non-ionic emulsifier.
  8. Emulsifying Wax
  9. Niacinamide Actives. Vitamin B3. Sebum, barrier, pigment transfer, at 2 to 5 percent.
  10. Salicylic Acid Actives. BHA, oil-soluble, clears inside the pore.
  11. Cetosteryl AlcoholPore-clogging 2/5 Emollients. Fatty alcohol thickener and co-emulsifier.
  12. Blueberry Extract
  13. Grapefruit Extract
  14. Oats
  15. Olive Squalane Emollients. Hydrogenated squalene, skin-identical lipid.
  16. Hyaluronic Acid Humectants. Sits on the surface and holds water in a film.
  17. Ceramide Actives. Barrier lipids. Work in a 3:1:1 ratio with cholesterol and fatty acids.
  18. Ethylhexyl Glycerin Preservatives. Preservative booster and deodorising agent.
  19. Carbomer Thickeners and film formers. Acrylic gel former, needs neutralising.
  20. Potassium Sorbate Preservatives. Antifungal preservative, works at low pH.
  21. Sodium Benzoate Preservatives. Food-grade preservative, works below pH 5.5.
