  2. Glycerin Humectants. The reference humectant. Cheap, proven, works at 3 to 10 percent.
  3. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate Old-generation UV filters. Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, UVB. Degrades avobenzone.
  4. Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane Old-generation UV filters. UVA I filter that breaks down in sunlight unless stabilised.
  5. Propylene Glycol Humectants. Glycol solvent and humectant, the older sibling of propanediol.
  6. Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid Modern UV filters. Water-soluble UVB filter from the 1990s.
  7. Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid Modern UV filters. Water-soluble UVA filter, peak 345 nm.
  8. Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol Modern UV filters. Particulate broad spectrum filter in water dispersion.
  9. Decyl Glucoside Surfactants. Sugar-based non-ionic, very mild.
