  1. Water Water, the base most formulas are built on. It dissolves the other ingredients
  2. Glycerin Humectants. The reference humectant. Cheap, proven, works at 3 to 10 percent.
  3. Butylene Glycol Humectants. Solvent and humectant, improves spread of actives.
  4. Propanediol Humectants. Corn-derived glycol, solvent and humectant.
  5. Panthenol Humectants. Provitamin B5, humectant and wound-healing support.
  6. Dimethicone Emollients. Non-volatile silicone, slip and light occlusion.
  7. Niacinamide Actives. Vitamin B3. Sebum, barrier, pigment transfer, at 2 to 5 percent.
  8. Mica (CI 77019) Fragrance, colour, solvents. Pearlescent mineral.
  9. 1,2-Hexanediol Preservatives. Glycol with antimicrobial effect, humectant.
  10. Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) Mineral filters and pigments. UVB particulate, often a booster in hybrids.
  11. Cyclopentasiloxane Emollients. Emollient, hair conditioning, skin conditioning, solvent
