2. Purified Water Water, the base most formulas are built on. It dissolves the other ingredients
3. Alcohol Fragrance, colour, solvents. Solvent that lightens texture and dries the barrier.
4. Sodium Hydroxide pH adjusters and chelators. Base for neutralising acids and carbomers.
5. Stearic Acid Surfactants. Cleansing, emulsifying, emulsion stabilising, masking, refatting, surfactant
6. Glycerin Humectants. The reference humectant. Cheap, proven, works at 3 to 10 percent.
7. Castor Oil
8. Propylene Glycol Humectants. Glycol solvent and humectant, the older sibling of propanediol.
9. Olive Oil
10. Sorbitol Humectants. Humectant, plasticiser, skin conditioning
11. Japanese Orange Essential Oil
12. Fragrance (IFRA) Fragrance, colour, solvents. Undisclosed fragrance blend.
13. Wheat Germ Oil
14. Vitamin C Actives. Pure vitamin C, needs pH 3.5 and 10 to 20 percent.
15. Sodium Benzoate Preservatives. Food-grade preservative, works below pH 5.5.
